Grilled Turkish Meat Balls (Izgara Kofte)


  • 600 grams of medium-fat ground beef (veal-sheep mixed)
  • 1 slice of stale bread
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


*Put 600 grams of ground beef into the bowl. Add 1 egg, 1 grated nectarine, 1 slice of stale bread, 1 teaspoon of cumin, half a teaspoon of salt and pepper.

*Knead the meatball base with all ingredients and cover with a stretch film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.

*Cut walnut-sized pieces from meatballs

*Give the meatballs flat shape with your hands soaked in water.

*Put the meatballs in the hot pan where you lubricate them.

*Start cooking by turning it upside down. Continue this process until all the meatballs are cooked.

*Your meatballs are ready, you can serve hot.
